Katy Puterka Smith received her Bachelors of Fine Art at Oklahoma State University and is a Registered Graduate Gemologist Appraiser from International School of Gemology. Smith is an artist and works in both 3D jewelry metals and 2D drawing mixed media. Her artwork has received multiple awards and features: International Niche Awards Finalist and winner's gallery, Oklahoma Contemporary Museum's-ArtNow Top Artist in 2016, Tallgrass Art Gallery, Kasum Contemporary Fine Art Gallery, Modello Art Gallery, Oklahoma’s Graphite Elements & Design Art Gallery, Gardiner Art Gallery, Pechakucha, and Hardesty Center for Fablab, Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG), First Place 2015 Student Capstone Exhibition Best of Show, Recipient of three OSU First Lady Willham House Awards. Smith has began and managed two galleries in the meantime. After her B.F.A and R.G.A Smith worked for 6 years as a custom jewelry designer, watch, and jewelry repair.
